If you were behind on your rent Sept 18, and you paid the rent owed, and you haven't paid for 30 days after that date, then you are behind again...What day is your rent due? Was it paid on that date? No? Then you are in default, and your landlord has the right to evict you. Rent is paid in advance, not arrears. The rent you paid on Septeber 18 was likely for July/August, NOT Sept/Oct.
