Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan
Free speech
If I get pulled over by the Police, do I have the right to call that police officer a moron, idiot, or maybe use obscenity to discribe what I think of him or her. Or is this type of language not considered protected free speech.

Re: Free speech
ure, you can say almost anything you want under the first amendment, but you'd be surprised how many charges (like: obstructing) can come out of it, and you can bet that any discretion the officer has to lighten up a bit will dissappear immediately. Why even think of being abusive,-- it's so unnecessary!
