Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan

Friend of Court changing paperwork after obtaining signature

I am asking this for my sister-in-law, who I feel has had her rights violated terribly. She has had ongoing problems with Friend of the Court collecting child support, but this time they've gone too far. She had gone to court, the ex didn't show up, she signed paperwork and left. A week later she gets the paperwork & they have white out all over it and changed it after she signed it! It now says she agreed to all these things she never agreed to. Then they called to tell her they messed up and are sorry, but because her signature is on this, although they changed it, she can't contest it!!! This is not legal, is it? What recourse does she have?

Thank you so very much for any help you can offer.

Re: Friend of Court changing paperwork after obtaining signature

See an attorney, if necessary from the Legal Aid Society. The court must be told of this behavior by a motion or petition, and your sister in law is not bound by anything she did not knowingly agreed to.
