Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan

My friends daughter just got put on "weight probation" at Hooters restaurant. She is 5'8" and weighs 135lbs. She is embarrassed and devastated. I am afraid she is going to hurt or starve herself because of this action. Is this legal- seems like discrimination to me? Please advise
