Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan
In Michigan what constitutes harrassment? I get harrassing texts from my ex-husband and also from his new wife. These texts are demeaning, such as "you are a terrible mother", "what kind of mother would do that"...and so forth. These have been going on for years and do not stop. I have filed a complaintant against him once with the local sheriff and they contacted him and told him to stop. What is my next move and do I have a case according to Michigan law? Thanks,
Traci

You would need a PPO or speak to the police about stalking. I don't think this would get too priority in their investigation, however, because they are not threatening.
