missappropriated child support
Can a mother who collects support from the father of thier child, continue to collect that support while the child is in the care of another for an extended amount of time, not give any of the support to the person caring for the child, and use the money any way she wants?

Re: missappropriated child support
The mother can collect such support because she is still primarily and legally responsible for the child. If the father challenges the arrangement, then perhaps the court would reduce the support but as long as no one has obtained an order to the contrary, she is not doing anything illegal. Bill Stern
