Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan
Neighbor Harassment
Help...our neighbors have nothing better to do than to constantly harass us and we would like to know our rights...harassment suit or restraining order. They have called and complained about our dog, and others in the neighborhood, they put notes in our mailbox threatening to call the City because we didn't do something right, and they are always calling the police on us saying we are having loud parties outside. The funny thing is, when the cops arrive they just laugh because they can't hear us when they come up the drive and we have never been ticketed. What can we do to get them off our backs. We have never bothered them and I am getting real tired of this. Thank you!

Re: Neighbor Harassment
Since it is too expensive to go to court and also too time consuming, I'd pressure the police to tell them that if they call the police and the police find there is no merit to the complaint, that they will charge them with filing a phoney police report.
