Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan
Can a parent open a childs mail?
My girlfriend is 17 years old and lives with her parents in Michigan. I am away at college and want to keep in touch through the mail. She is worried that her parents will open my letters to her before she can read them. Can her parents open her mail without her permission?

They probably can open her mail because she is a minor. Doesn't she have email? Bill Stern
