Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan

the person behind me likes to burn wood I have ask him to stop because my son has asthma and the smell of burnt wood goes into my house and stays. I mean I have a hard time getting the smell to go away. yes I have called the police but thier is no real ordinance saying he cannot burn wood. How can I get Him to stop?
