Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan

Do the police have the right

I have a 15yr old son who went out drinking with friends, he was drunk and walking down the street, he was spotted by the police. There were 6 policemen i was told that jumped on him they tazered him about 7 times he was covered in bruises, cuts & a big bump on his head. They took him to the station, they had the hand cuffs so tight that he was bleeding and had big red welts around his wrist. I had them take him to the hospital. The paramedic was concerned about the marks also he told the nurse that the police usally tell them what they were picked up for, and what happened but the police told them nothing. The nurse was also concerned about the condition he was in. Can the police just beat on these kids and give no reason to anyone

Re: Do the police have the right

Handcuffs can cause serious and disabling injury if not properly applied. In what city did this occur? Was your son charged with any crimes? I have sued police officers for similar misconduct in the past. I hope that your son is ok.
