Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan

Hello,

I am a pro per in CA and filed a civil case w/ MI court. The defendant's lawyer sent a motion of requesting dismiss and set the hearing date. How to file a response, what form/document needed? by regular mail or by certify mail? Need to send response to

court only or to court and defendant? Other details I need to pay attention?

Thanks for the experts' suggentions.

You need to file your response with the Court and the Defendant. There is no set form, but the Michigan Court rules do indicate how long you have to respond. Regular mail is OK, but I recommend certified (just in case there are issues down the road). Given the seriousness of the Motion filed by Defendant, you should consider contacting a civil rights attorney licensed to practice in Michigan.
