Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan
Public School Parking Permit
Our public high school has a new policy of requiring all students who drive apply for a parking permit.
In order for them to obtain the permit the student is being demanded that they provide copies of the Vehicle Registration, Driver's License, and Proof of Insurance to be kept in the school's files. Is this legal for them to demand such personal information in order for the students to park in the school's parking lot?
