Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan

I don't even know where to start.

I live in Michigan. My ex-boyfriend has been nice to me, sending messages like "God loves you and so do I" and telling me he wants to get back with me.

But then he told me about a forum he got advice on - it's misquotes, telling people I was crazy, and deformations. It was an all out attack of how crazy I am, it wasn't asking for advice.

I am an accountant. I was going to help his friend do her taxes for her for free. After giving my name and information, he told her he made a mistake and not to contact me. As an accountant, if I don't have integrity I don't have a job.

He admits to sending my texts, emails, voicemail to others. He told me that was the only forum he posted on, but I did a search of his username and found another one.

Is there any way to stop this? To get the posts taken down? Even find out how many there are? What options do I have legally? What type of lawyer should I even talk to? Right now I don't even know where to start.

In what state does your ex-boyfriend live?

You could get a personal protection order issued against him in the Macomb county circuit court.

Call if questions.

You may have a cause of action for defamation (making false statements) and/or tortious interference with business relations. Depending on the facts, you could seek an injunction to force him to cease publishing these lies about you. Contact me if you have any questions. I would be more than happy to assist you.
