Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan
The subdivision where I live has 2 entrances/exits only. This weekend police shutdown both for a parade. They made no prior notifications that this would occur; only that there would be a parade on Sunday. For an hour and a half nobody was able to enter or exit the subdivision. I became late for my mother's wedding and other neighbors were late for other appointments also because we were not able to plan around this. Is a lockdown for this reason legal?

No, and you should complain to both the police department that shut down the entrances as well as your city council or local government, or possibly county government that issued the parade permit.
