Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan

Suing a Police Station

I am an insulin-dependent diabetic. I was taken to jail because the driver of the vehicle was involved in drug related charges, unknown to me beforehand. They took me as well even though they found no drugs or etc. At the time I did not have my insulin on my person. While I was encarserated, they tried to force me to sign a document saying I was guilty of a crime that I did not do, before they would let me call my mother to bring my insulin to me. As a result I nearly passed out. I felt that my personal rights were violated and my illness was used against me. Do I have grounds to sue the police station and if so, what kind of lawyer would I want to seek out?

Re: Suing a Police Station

In what city did this happen, and when? Were there any long term effects from being denied your insulin? I have handled similar cases, but would need to know more. Please let me know.
