Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan

Violation of Personal Liberty? Privacy

My Neighbor is employed by the MI State Police. We live in a VERY rural area where there are few house and is quiet.

We have never spoken the idea of living where we do is privacy!

My boyfriend was pulled over and ticket for driving on a suspended license. The ticketing officer told him that a description of his car with the suspension information had been ''phoned'' in to the station.

His lawyer obtained a copy of the report that officer had made and in the report it included our neighbors name. HMMMM

My question: How did he obtain this information? I'm sure that he ran the plates of our cars, one is registered in my name the other was his fathers car. Can he do that?

How would he have obtained my boyfriends name let alone his driving record ect.....

I am not defending him what so ever. I did not know he did not have a current license before this transpired and when you play you pay.

My point; This MY home-payed and maintained. Is this guy running plates of my friends and family when they are visiting?? I realize my information as a home owner is public record but NO WHERE is the information on my boyfriend.

Suggestions????

Re: Violation of Personal Liberty? Privacy

It is against the law to use the state police computers to run people's ID and records without proper cause. That is why the Oakland County Prosecutor is facing problems because he used the computer to run the name of a judge. Report him to his superiors. William S. Stern
