Legal Question in Technology Law in Michigan
My client hired a web designer for their web site. The designer registered the domain in his name and has the client locked into using the designer for updates. The updates are charged at an astronomical fee (as compared to ANY other provider). When attempting to upload their own work, the designer threatens to take them to court. How can they gain control over their domain name so they can transfer it to another host so they are not gouged?

If the web designer is holding the domain name hostage, the true owner must sue to get it back. Try a UDRP action. (google that and then see an attorney)
