Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan
Attorney died unexpectedly
My son's attorney in a custody matter died unexpectedy. It was a private practice - no partner to take over. Son paid 2500.00 retainer. There has been no papers filed with court yet. How can he get his money back? We will most likely be dealing with the widow, and want to be sensative to her loss also.

Re: Attorney died unexpectedly
You must file a claim against the estate. Contact the probate court and ask them for the paperwork that you need.
