Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan

Auto repair

I left my vehicle at a garage for repair. The mechanic has been telling me for over 2 weeks that the part in question has been sent in for repair, but today before he opened I went into the open area (not gated or fenced) where he parks cars. and popped my hood to find that the part in question was still installed in my vehicle and had never been removed. I would like to get my vehicle back and the $400 I already gave him to fix it. What are my rights?

Re: Auto repair

Take a witness with you. Tell him that you want your car and your money back. Tell him that you know that he has lied to you as per your examination of the vehicle. Tell him that you are not obligated to continue as he has fraudulently induced you and you are certainly not comfortable allowing him to repair the car under the circumstances. See what happens. Tell him that you are going to take formal action if he does not comply.
