Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan
auto trans service
I paid a place to fix my transmission that didnt go in reverse. they sublet the repairs to another company that did the internal work. they replaced some parts that were broken or worn and said it was fixed. the same problem came back after only a short time so i brought it back and they fixed it saying one of the gears (reverse) was ''soft'' and fixed at no cost, not even labor. well it happened a third time and im sick of it now. i paid them to fix my trans, its not fixed in my mind and the company that did the internal work is saying that they wont do any more work unless paid for it. the place that i paid is saying they wont charge any labor but ill have to pay for the sublet repairs again! to me they never fixed the original problem. but its only the sublet repair place being a pain.

Negotiate or small claims to get your money back. Maybe it's something that can't be fixed.
Re: auto trans service
I would need to know if there was a warranty from either place, and whether the trans is still under warranty.
Even if not under warranty, a letter from a lawyer may change their mind about repairing it - and they could do it for free. At this point, it probably couldn't hurt.
Thanks.
