Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan
used car rip off
I bought a used car from a private owner and everything was a lie. From the miliage to I believe the VIN # is not the actual VIN # for the car. It feels like a death trap and I believe has blood on the carpets. Is there anything I can do? and if pretty much nothing, are there little tricks around it? I am on disability

Where normally used cars are sold as is, you have a strong case for fraud and can rescind the contract.

Re: used car rip off
You may have a potential claim under the odometer fraud law. This federal law provides significant protection to you. The case cannot be evaluated without ordering records concerning the car's title history. But if odometer fraud is shown, you could sue not only the seller, but anyone else in the chain of title who may be responsible for your loss.
