Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan
being charged for 'free trial'
I work at a bar in Northern Michigan and a tourist/customer from Illinois came in and we were talking about back surgeries, he said he takes Mona-Vie and that I should try it too (for my back pain). I asked him how much it was and he told me not to worry about it because he sells a lot of it and he knows how I feel and would just want me to be pain free so to give it a try for a month and if I liked it then he would 'sign me up' and I could order it myself. He then handed me a case of 4 bottles. I never signed anything and when he contacted me again I told him I was not interested in buying any or selling it. He is now threatening me with court action and telling my 11 year old daughter that the sheriff is going to come get me.
I still have 3 bottles left (the 4th broke). Do I send those back? Do I pay for the broken one although it was supposed to be free? Can I get arrested for this? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Re: being charged for 'free trial'
He gave it to you and without a written contract, he will have a hard time proving you breached. It is in no way criminal. Tell him to jump in a lake, to use a legal term of art. Tim Klisz
