Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan

Davenport University Over Charge

I am being charged 50% of a class total for dropping a class from Davenport University. I dropped the class within the 10% range and I had this confirmed by student services and my advisor. They are now saying it was in the 50% range time frame. I contacted both of these people and all I received was a message saying that I will have to pay the 50%. Clearly these two people misrepresented the University and me in this matter and now will do nothing to clear this matter up. I based my decision to drop the class on the information that they gave me. I am not in the habit of throwing money away and would never have dropped the class if the information I had received had been correct. I will not give in and pay this bureaucracy with out a fight.

What are my rights in this matter? What can I do about this?

Re: Davenport University Over Charge

You have a lawsuit against the school. You would do well to have an attorney write a letter for you explaining your position as backed by the law and suggesting that if formalities are required, the school will be responsible for your attorney fees.

If you would like my assistance in writing the letter, please contact me via my website at www.lawrefs.com.
