Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan
I disputed an item on my credit reports. All 3 agencies found that the entry was in error and it has been removed from all 3 reports. Though this just happened in the past 2 weeks, the collection agency is still calling. Is this legal?

did you notify the collection agency of your successful dispute, or perhaps send them the confirming documentation from the agencies that show the debt is not yours, etc., as the collection agency doesn't check your credit before they make every call. they likely don't know about it. inform them, in writing, and then if they still call after being provided notice (like beyond a week after they would receive your letter), then they could be in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
