Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan
Horse Show Payouts
Since it's beginning our horse show assc has always paid the winners in a 4 division format of 35-30-20-15%. Recently without notice to the membership they changed to 40-30-20-10% There are no assc rules stating how the payout be made. Has precedence been set that would require them to notifiy the membership of the change before changing the payout?

Re: Horse Show Payouts
There are likely association rules which state when the assn can make changes to the rules, and if they have to give notice to the membership, and how much notice. If there is no rule requiring notice of any changes in the rules, then they can do it anytime. You'd have to review the rules.
