Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan

medical billing

If a medical bill is first sent out one year past the date of service is the patient obligated to pay. This would be a first billing, not from a collection agency. Is there a law regarding this?

Re: medical billing

The statute of limitations on a contract is 6 years from date of service or last payment. So they are within their right. Visit www.kliszlaw.com to discuss further. Tim Klisz

Yes you are responsible to pay it and no there is no time limit for someone to send a bill to you, unfortunately.
