Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan
I purchased a used vehicle from a dealership in Michigan a little over a month ago. I was told I would recieve my registration and title within a month. I haven't recieved anything so I called the bureau of automotive registration and I was told that nothing had been done on this vehicle in almost 4 years which means the dealership never even transferred ownership to themselves. I called the dealership and was given the run around saying that they would look into what happened and call me back. I never recieved a call so I called back and asked to speak to the owner. The owner eventually called and said he was headed to the office now and would look into it himself and call me back. He never did. I'm wondering legally what I can do if they dont produce the title soon. The plate that was suppossed to be transfered to the new vehicle are still registered to the old vehicle so I have unknowingly been driving around with illegal plates.
