Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan

Refusing to accept payment

I paid mine and my sons cell phone bill, have paid for years with one check, they refused the check stating we had to pay with two checks because two different accounts, later a friend said the bill was paid because they refused full payment, is that correct?

Re: Refusing to accept payment

The cell phone company is not going to crumble to that argument. They are going to require payment nonetheless and if you do not pay them, they will ruin your credit and could take you to court. Furthermore, it seems reasonable to require different checks for the different accounts, and in court the reasonable person standard generally applies.
