Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan
I had a new roof installed last week. Some of the roof completely the garage and a side was shingled over existing shingles. Half of my garage roof has blown off. The contractor told me to contact my insurance company to get it fixed. Is my contractor responsible for the repair or am I.
Thank You,
Craig

Contact the Michigan department of licensing to determine if your roofer was licensed. File a complaint with DLEG if he is. If he isn't, file a suit for unlicensed work and breach of contract. Sue for the cost of replacing the roof again, or at least for the amount he charged to do a slip-shod job. You will need an attorney. Don't hire another roofer without seeing his license and checking references on him.
