Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan
Hi, I have a small business, and merchant account, merchant service provider terminated my merchant account, they claim that I sold an item legal gift card to a customer and gift cards aren't allowed, and funds are held for 90 days amount of $1,700, in contract, there is no prohibited items list and nothing mentioned about funds hold. Can I sue them?

Read the contract carefully and if you feel there is a breach, certainly sue them. Because the amount is under $3,000, you can choose small claims court even if you are a business, because this is an exception to the requirement corporations be represented by an attorney in court(assuming you are a corporation, of course)
If thy choose to bring in an attorney, you can too, but this is the starting place. I see you are in Livonia. Contact me directly if you have further questions. Thanks, Tim Klisz
