Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan
What happens when a spouse passes and they have a credit card in their name only, and it has a balance. can the credit company ask for payment in full if payments are being made on the balance?

They can ask for what ever they want. Unless there is a probate estate, there should be no payments made, as the surviving spouse is not obligated to pay debts of the deceased spouse that are in their name only. Visit me at kliszlaw.com to discuss more fully. Tim Klisz
