Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan

Work Order Estimate

My work order estimate for replacement windows was $3110. Once windows began to be installed, workers/bus.owner said it was more difficult than anticipated and requires more time & materials @ additional cost of $650. Nothing on the work order suggests there may be additional charges. Am I required to pay the additional charge? I put $1500 down.

Re: Work Order Estimate

If the expense should have been anticipated such that it was foreseeable, then no, you should not have to pay the additional cost. Have the business owner put the additional expense in writing and then take it to another builder to see if he would have anticipated the cost.
