Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan
Need some Advice for Small Claims Court
In the summer of 05' my friend had a cell phone in her name. I was about 16 at the time. The phone i had, had broke so whenever i was with her i asked her to use her phone and we agreed that i would split the bill for the amount that i had used. when the statement would come she'd tell me the amount she thought i owed her and i would buy a money order and give it to her. NEVER did i fill out the money order. She never showed me the statement or given me reciepts for what i paid her.Shes suing me two years later for $700 saying that i ran up the bill and never paid the payments. after 3 months of me using the phone and spliting the bill i told her that i didn't need the phone anymore because i had bought another phone. What should i say in court?
