Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

Charged for someone else's medical bill

My hospital gave out my personal information for someone else's medical bills. They have admitted the error but claim patient confidentiality when I try fixing the problem. The biggest problem is the address they gave out for me was wrong. So I've never gotten any notice of billing, but one of the bills now shows up on my credit report. What can I do?

Sounds like they have violated the HIPPA laws, federal and Michigan fair debt collections acts as well as the credit reporting laws.

You should get an attorney to assist you in your claims as these laws allow for attorney fees. If you would like my assistance, please visit my website at www.lawrefs.com for more information about me.
