Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan
checking account garnishment
Credit card company I owe debt to has now hired an attorney. I have yet to be sued or served with a court date. Can they seize my bank account with out me appearing in court first?

No, that would deprive you of personal property without due process of the law and would be unconstitutional. It requires judicial authority for a creditor to do that to you.
