Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan
Credit card debt.
In 1991 Chase Manhattan quit sending me monthly statements, I sent them money but they sent it back to me and said I had no account with them, today, fifteen years later a collection agency sent a bill and they want their money. My question is after fifteen years of not hearing from anyone, do I have to pay?

Re: Credit card debt.
If, in fact, this is the same account you attempted to pay in 1991, and you have made no further payments, then the 6-year statute of limitations has expired, and Chase should not be able to collect the debt. Please feel free to call me if you would like an attorney's assistance in this matter.
Good luck.
