Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan
Credit card debt
I am being sued by a debt collection law firm for failure to make my Visa payments. When my account was turned over to the law firm from the collection agency, I began making $25 per month payments to the law firm, but they filed a complaint against me and I filed an answer to the complaint with the court. Now I have a date for a hearing. What's going to happen? Can a credit counselor help me? I can't afford an attorney.

Re: Credit card debt
A credit counselor cannot help you in court. It is hard to tell yo what will happen without knowing what is in your answer. Inability to pay doesn't get you out of a debt.
