Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

credit card debt

Is it true that there is a law that provides you the chance to not have to pay back unsecured loans and the debt can just be wiped away. What is this law?

Re: credit card debt

It is called bankruptcy. You would have to consult with a bankruptcy lawyer to determine if you qualify for any type of bankruptcy, such as a Chapter 7, which fully relieves you from credit card debt, medical bills, and other kinds of unsecured liens or debts. You can obtain a discharge/relief for debts such as child support, alimony, or student loans.

Thanks.
