Credit Card Dept

I had a Dept Store credit card in 1995 and I havent paid in 10 years, it was on my credit report forever and now it is gone it used to say charge off. I am trying to buy a house and have paid some exisiting medical collections and now they are calling again to collect. What is my legal situation on repayment.

It sounds as if the statute of limitations has run depending on when the account was closed and whether you had a judgment against you. The statute of limitations is 6 years for breach of contract which is what you did when you ceased payment. You might consider denying the debt in writing.
