Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan
credit card from funiture purchase
We are being sued by a credit company. Back in dec. 2006 they sent a letter and we responded within the 30 day limit stating the amount and other things seemed wrong (and they were). We requested the orginial creditor to be contacting us. They never had the original contact us or even contacted us back. They claim to have, but we have only the orginial letter and a copy of our letter that we sent to them.
Now we do not know what to do. Living in Michigan, I have had a hard time finding another job. We do not have the money and do not have money for a lawyer. What do we do? The amount they say we owe is 1200.00 more than the orginial furniture price. It seems sooo wrong? What to do?

Raise the issues you have with the judge when it comes time for your hearing. Do not avoid service of process and do not fail to appear for any hearing.
