Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

credit card lawsuit

I am being sued by a credit card company for $11,200.00. I owe the amount but cannot pay it. I will lose the lawsuit and will not be able to pay. I have no job, house, or car and very few personal possessions. Is it worth declaring chapter 7 or should I just let the lawsuit go through? If I do decide to declare chapter 7 should I declare before the lawsuit is heard or can I declare post judgment?

Re: credit card lawsuit

Based on the limited information about your income and assets, you could be a good candidate for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. You first need a good legal consultation. The bankruptcy laws will change in mid-October, making it more difficult for many people to file for bankruptcy. Please call me for a free consultation.
