Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

credit card loan

approximately 4 years ago i helped my daughter consolidate some of her credit cards by using a low interest offer from one of my credit cards. i trusted her to make payments. this had consistenly not happened and i had switch from one card to another after the interest rates skyrocketed because of this. the total amount is $8500.00 now she has decided not to pay anything. i did get disgusted at one point and emailed her and said to consider the debt paid in full. my question is do we have a chance of winning if we take her to small claims court? we to have proof that has made payments. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: credit card loan

Your biggest problem is the email you sent saying the debt was paid in full. Assuming she can pull that out, that is a defense to collection. Secondly, small claims is limited to $3,000. Good luck, Tim Klisz
