Two part question: Is it true that there is a statue of limitations on credit card debt. I have looked on line and it appears that in Michigan thay hve 6 yrs. to try and collect from the first time od delinquency. Also, is it true that in order to sue you in small claims court they have to physically serve you with papers?

Re: credit laws

The statute of limitations runs from the date of last payment, 6 years from then. As to service, it can be personal, certified mail or alternate service if ordered by a judge. Contact me at www.kliszlaw.com for more information. Tim Klisz
