Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

Credit

I received a letter from an attorney office asking to collect a credit card debt of $22000. I have stopped paying after joining a debt settlement company which I found later that it's a fraud. So know I got this letter form the attorney. I didn't call them back yet I have 30 days to respond before they proceed with judgment I guess. I want to talk to them and settle or set up a payment plan to pay back. Are they going to settle or accept a payment plan, DO I call them or not?

What can they do? I am willing to make payments to the bank....

Let me know if I need to hire a lawyer or not...

Re: Credit

For something of this magnitude, you should not be fooling around with it on your own. Hire an experienced attorney, such as myself that is familiar with collection practices and the FDCPA before you do anything further. There are many traps and pitfalls that an experienced attorney can help you avoid when this case makes its way to litigation.
