Deceased credit Card payments
My mother in law recently died leaving approx. $3000.00 in credit card debt. Are we required to pay it and if not, how do we get the credit card companies to stop calling us Thank you

Re: Deceased credit Card payments
You are not responsible unless she had money or assets which you are keeping in lieu of paying her debts. If she had no money, or sufficient money to pay off her debts at the time she passed, then send the creditors a letter stating that and include a copy of her death certificate. They will do their homework and verify that no estate was opened and that she doesn't have any bank accounts with money, etc., and leave you alone.
Sorry for your loss.
