delinquent debt

we sold feed to a farmer, he should be on his 21st payment, but is on his 11th, a total of 8500.00 is due, how can we collect this easily? Can you recommend a form letter to send him. thank you

There is no simple answer to your question. You may send him a letter demanding payment (according to the terms of your agreement)but he still might refuse to pay. In order to collect, you would then first have to take him to court. Small claims court limits recovery to $3,000, and in general civil court, you might need an attorney. Also, if you get a judgment against him, you will still need to colect from him if he does not pay voluntarily. You may wish to seek assistance from an attorney. I handle collection matters.
