Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan
Early vehicle lease termination debt
For financial reasons I turned in a lease vehicle one year early, in perfect condition, way under mileage alloted. I put a substantial amount down and made the payments on time all of the time. The auto dealer took the vehicle back and sold it. I made small payments for the first 8 months after I turned in the vehicle. Now they want me to pay the remaining payments for the last year totaling over $2000.00. Is there anything legally that can be done to avoid any more payments? My credit is perfect with no delinquent bills to this point. Thank-you for your time.

I doubt it would be worth the time and effort involved to challenge this - most of these arrangements are sound and solid. Your best bet is to make an agreement to provide payments over time so you can keep your credit score high.
