estate question
my mom passed away last oct, she had no will, no one was appointed to her estate. only thing she had is her house, theres $40000 owed on it, she does have some medical bills & a credit card bill ( $4000 ) my question is, are myself & my sister responceable for these bills, and can the credit card company put any kind of lein on the house.

If the credit card companies have judgments, they can put a lien on the house. The house cannot be transferred into yours and your sister's name until you open a probate estate. Can you take over the mortgage?
