Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

finding out the last payment or charge of an 8 year old credit card

How can I find out when the last payment or charge was made on a credit card over 8 years old? It's been so long I just can't remember. I know the original creditor, but that's it.

Apparently a judgment was issued...I was served papers roughly 2 years ago that said there was intent to file but no date. I'm trying to figure this out. The debt was well before I was married and now I'm a stay at home mom with no income.

Contact the original creditor and inquire. Sounds like you should also visit the court and ask to see the file.

Consider that the 6 year statute of limitations for breach of contract claims because you do not have to pay debt that is too old, but if there is a case filed/pending, you need to bring this to the judge's attention.
