a friend left life insurance policy to me, can her credit card companies she owes, take the life insurance money from me

if you were named a direct beneficiary of the policy, it is yours and the credit card companies cannot take it. If she left it to you in a will and the policy has no beneficiary or her Estate is the beneficiary, the creditors have to follow procedures to be paid from it through the Probate of the Estate.
